Privacy policy

Potauchef has not appointed a data protection officer; it is not required to do so.

1. Visiting the site

Technical data. To display the pages, Cloudflare, our host, receives the technical information of each request: IP address, address of the requested page (including search terms), date, browser type and approximate country.

  • Purposes: display the site, protect it against abuse and fix errors.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing a safe and working site (art. 6.1.f).
  • Retention: the site does not log every request. It keeps only errors and a 1% sample of requests, deleted after 7 days at most.

Usage statistics. We count, per day, per recipe page and per language: appearances in search results, recipe page views and clicks to Instagram. These counters contain no IP address, no identifier and no cookie. They cannot be used to recognize you.

  • Purposes: learn which recipe pages are useful and share a report with the creators.
  • Legal basis: legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f). No information is read from or written to your browser; consent is therefore not requested.
  • Retention: no time limit. These counters contain no personal data.

Cookies. The public site sets no cookies and does not use your browser's local storage. Boxes you tick on a recipe page stay in the page and disappear when you close it.

2. Links to Instagram

The site's videos are muted. The "Watch with sound on Instagram" button and the links to creators' accounts open Instagram. Before this click, no data is sent to Meta. After this click, Meta's privacy policy applies.

3. "Become a partner" form

The form, hosted by Tally, asks for: your Instagram or TikTok account, your email address, your approximate number of followers, a recipe you would like us to discover, and, if you wish, your motivations and how you heard about Potauchef.

  • Purposes: review your application, reply to you and prepare a possible partnership.
  • Legal basis: pre-contractual steps taken at your request (art. 6.1.b).
  • Recipients: the publisher of Potauchef; Tally BV (Belgium), which hosts the responses in the European Union.
  • Retention: 1 year after the last exchange if the application does not proceed; otherwise, the duration of the partnership (section 4).
  • Required fields are marked. Without them, we cannot review the application.

4. Partner creators

For each partner, we keep: name or pseudonym, Instagram account, contact details, exchanges, consent given and list of approved recipes.

  • Purposes: prepare, publish and remove recipe pages; prove the consent given; send the statistics of your recipe pages.
  • Legal basis: performance of the partner terms accepted by the creator (art. 6.1.b); for proof of consent, our legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f).
  • Retention: during the partnership, then 5 years as proof of consent (civil limitation period).

Your name, your pseudonym and the links to your account are published on your recipe pages, as agreed in the partner terms.

5. Instagram content used to prepare recipe pages

To write a recipe page, we consult the public Reels of partner creators: video, caption and public comments. Comments help check an ingredient or a quantity.

We do not keep the usernames of people who comment. Our private archives keep only the comment text, its technical identifier and its date. A comment may, however, itself contain a first name or a mention.

  • Purposes: check the recipe information and keep a record of its source.
  • Legal basis: legitimate interest in publishing accurate recipe pages (art. 6.1.f).
  • Source: the public Instagram posts of the partner creator.
  • Recipients: the publisher; Cloudflare (private storage); Anthropic, when the internal tool suggests a draft answer to a question about the recipe.
  • Retention: as long as the creator remains a partner, then deletion.

No comment is published on the site. You can object to this processing by writing to us: we then delete your comment from our archives.

6. Artificial intelligence tools

We use AI models to translate recipe pages and to suggest draft answers in our internal tool. These drafts go through Cloudflare AI Gateway to Anthropic. The gateway does not log the content of the exchanges. Anthropic does not train its models on this data and deletes it no later than 30 days after receipt, except in case of a breach of its usage policies. No visitor data is sent to these tools.

7. Service providers and transfers outside the European Union

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (United States and global network): hosting, database, storage, logs, admin protection, AI gateway, email reception. Transfers covered by the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses.
  • Tally BV (Belgium, hosting in the European Union): partner form. No transfer, except for exceptions covered by standard contractual clauses.
  • Anthropic Ireland, Limited (Ireland and United States): draft answers in the internal tool. Transfers covered by the standard contractual clauses.

We do not sell any personal data and share nothing for advertising purposes.

8. Your rights

You can request access to your data, its rectification, its erasure, the restriction of processing and its portability. You can also object to processing based on our legitimate interest.

Write to contact@potauchef.com. We reply within one month.

If you believe that your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL: https://www.cnil.fr/fr/plaintes.

9. Security

Site administration is restricted to the publisher and protected by Cloudflare Access and a token check. Unpublished media stay in private storage. Exchanges with the site are encrypted (HTTPS).

10. Changes

We update this policy when a processing activity changes. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
